# Use Cases

Real-world applications built on **Zetrix Layer 2 (Z2)**. These show how Z2's low-cost, high-throughput EVM execution and L1-anchored settlement are used in production scenarios.

## TradeTrust on Zetrix L2

**TradeTrust** is an open framework for cryptographically verifiable trade documents, including **title-transferable electronic bills of lading**, built on **W3C Verifiable Credentials** standards. It lets any third party (banks, customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other supply chain participants) verify a trade document using standard tooling, instead of relying on a proprietary vendor system or a centralized portal.

### Problem it solves

Paper-based and vendor-locked trade documents are slow to verify, easy to forge, and require every counterparty to trust a specific platform. TradeTrust replaces that with a standards-based, cryptographically verifiable document that anyone can check independently.

### How it integrates with Z2

TradeTrust deploys **unchanged** on Zetrix L2's EVM-compatible execution environment. The integration defines an **identity model** for how issuers and counterparties are identified on-chain, along with the technical decisions for document issuance and verification against Z2. This lets TradeTrust inherit Z2's low-cost, high-throughput execution and Zetrix L1-anchored settlement, while keeping full compatibility with the standard TradeTrust tooling used elsewhere.

### Deliverables

The integration covers two product pillars: **identity infrastructure** (how issuers and holders are identified and authenticated) and the **document issuance and verification mechanism** (how bills of lading and other trade instruments are created, transferred, and checked), with a phased rollout toward production.
